Download to Google Spreadsheet from Webmaster Tools

Webmaster Tools now has a new download option for exporting your data directly to a Google Spreadsheet. The download option is available for most of our data heavy features, such as Crawl errors, Search queries, and Links to your site. If you enjoy digging into the data from Webmaster Tools but don’t want to use Python scripts or the API, we’ve added new functionality just for you. Now when you click a download button from a Webmaster Tools feature like Search queries, you'll be presented with the "Select Download Format" option where you can choose to download the data as "CSV" or "Google Docs."

Choosing "CSV" initiates a download of the data in CSV format which has long been available in Webmaster Tools and can be imported into other spreadsheet tools like Excel. If you select the new “Google Docs” option then your data will be saved into a Google Spreadsheet and the newly created spreadsheet will be opened in a new browser tab.

We hope the ability to easily download your data to a Google Spreadsheet helps you to get crunching on your site's Webmaster Tools data even faster than you could before. Using only a web browser you can instantly dive right into slicing and dicing your data to create customized charts for detecting significant changes and tracking longer term trends impacting your site. Site Explorer transition to Bing Webmaster Tools

As we announced in July, Bing Webmaster Tools are supporting the Yahoo! Site Explorer community. Webmasters should now be using the Bing Webmaster Tools to ensure that their websites continue to get high quality organic search traffic from Bing and Yahoo!.
Since the middle of August 2011, the Bing Webmaster Tools have also been integrating traffic data from Yahoo! into its reports. Please check out the Bing Webmaster blog post for more information.
We have been making great progress in transitioning organic search results to the Microsoft search platform in various markets, as part of the Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance. The Site Explorer website will continue to be available until organic results are completely transitioned to the Microsoft Search platform in all markets (expected to be completed by the end of the year). Webmasters may continue to use the Site Explorer website and all its services until then.
As previously announced, the SiteExplorer YDN API’s are no longer available as of September 15, 2011. We thank all the YDN developer community who used and supported the APIs.

Today I read my friend Sid`s Wall. There he had thanked his friend, to let him know about the procedure to get the Facebook`s old chat back. I thought if that friend got all the credits for this info, why not to make a small procedure and share it on my blog. I have tested myself with all the procedures to work fine in all browsers.
Many people including me did not liked much the new facebook chat. The most ridiculous thing in it was to show offline people in the list. How to Install Old Facebook Chat Script in Google Chrome

In Google Chrome, its really easy task to install the script to enable the Old facebook chat. Just Click the Following link to install Script. CLICK HERE TO GO TO DOWNLOAD SCRIPT PAGE. In the Script page Click ‘INSTALL’ button which is in the Top Right side of the page.

Now the Install Popup will appear, in that box CLICK ‘INSTALL’ and now the Script is Installed.

Now the Script is Installed. Now Close the Existing Facebook page and Open the Facebook again. You can See your Old Favorite Chat is available. If you cant see the old facebook chat, Clear the cache and open the facebook. Anytime you can remove this script from extension menu of the Google chrome to get the New sidebar chat box.

How to Install Old Facebook Chat Script in Mozilla Firefox

In Mozilla Firefox, First we need to install Grease Monkey Add-on before installing the Old Facebook Script. So Open the Firefox and go to Download page of the Grease Moneky Add-on from the following link. Click here to go to Gease Monkey Add-on Download page. In the Download page Click ‘Add To Firefox’ button.

After clicking ADD TO FIREFOX button, the popup will ask about installation. Click INSTALL and Its done.

Now Gease Monkey Add-on is Installed. Now Click here to go to Script Page in the Script Page click Install button which is in the Right top, same as we did above for How to get Old Facebook chat for Google Chrome.

After installing Close the Facebook and Open it again to see the Old Facebook chat is available. if you can’t find, Clear the cache files and try again. Anytime you can remove this script from Gease Monkey add-on to get the New sidebar chat box.

How to solve "SD card removed unexpectedly" problem in Samsung Galaxy Y

Its not only frustrating but its too tedious if you keep on getting the Memory Card removed unsuccessfully error without removing the card. I am talking about the new Samsung Galaxy Y mobile phone. People who have got it and just started the internet and updated their phone for the first time will get this error. Then what can be done next. You must have tried to restart your phone again and again. But the problem must be arriving again and again after few hours I guess.

Many people went to the customer service, but still problem is not solved. As we know that updating the phone`s firmware is good but if showing such problems it becomes very nasty. So my strong advice to all the Samsung users is to read the below solution quite skillfully.

Solution:
Go to Menu>Settings>About>Update
Update your phone, then it will restart, keep on doing this process till all the updates are done.
The reason for the above problem is not with the hardware of your phone, but it was a bug in the 1st update in Android 2.3.5 for this Galaxy y. So just update your firmware and the problem will be solved. Enjoy Android apps!

How to Restart Windows without restarting your computer

When you click on the SHUTDOWN button, make sure to simultaneous press SHIFT Button. If you hold the Shift key down while clicking on SHUTDOWN button, you computer would restart without restarting the Computer. This is equivalent to term "HOT REBOOT".

Make sure you are using fast switching for user. For those who don't know here is the method :

Click on change the way user log and log off, there you will make the changes by marking the two boxes.

Change Facebook Theme Color, Appearance, Skin, Style or Template

It is a fact that almost everyone is on Facebook but it is also a fact that not everyone is happy with the default blue theme on Facebook. Some even consider it a turnoff while visiting Facebook.

It is relatively easy to change the Facebook theme to a stylish one using a Firefox addon and a custom theme which are available free of cost on the internet.

The final outcome would be something like in the image.

Requirement: The basic requirement for this to work is to have Mozilla Firefox 3.5 or higher.

Steps: The following steps should be carried out to successfully change Facebook theme.

1. Open Mozilla Firefox and install 'Stylish' addon.
2. Follow the basic steps and install the addon.
3. Restart Firefox after successfully installing the stylish addon.
4. Login to your Facebook Account and click on the small 'S' button in your Firefox status bar.
5. Click on "Find Styles for this Site" to open a new tab with free themes to use for Facebook.
6. Click on any theme and a preview will be shown.
7. If everything is fine in the previewed theme, click on "Install with Stylish" button at the top right corner of the page.
8. A dialog box will open.
9. Click on Install in the dialog box.

Now whenever you open Facebook, it will show the theme that you have installed with Stylish instead of the boring old blue theme.

9 Tips to get more Twitter Followers

The tips are just a matter of my twitter experience. Use them wisely for getting good number of followers and have a great time on twitter.

• Tip 1: Follow to get followed, but take it easy. Don’t follow 500 people a day. Keep your following/followers ratio near 1:1. Let’s say you follow 500 people and have 500 followers, then it would not be wise to follow 500 more in one day, rather in a week or more.
• Tip 2: Provide value, share interesting stuff, give relevant information. If you read something interesting on the web, share the link. Participate in conversations.
• Tip 3: Fill in your bio and picture. People get turned away if there’s nothing to see in your Twitter profile. Write something about yourself and add a picture, preferably one that shows you. People like to know who they talk to.
• Tip 4: Create a blog or a website. In addition to filling in your bio, a link to your blog will provide more information about you. It will show your personality in a more detailed way than the short bio in your Twitter profile.
• Tip 5: Re-tweet whatever you find valuable and reply to your followers. They will do the same to you and your name will appear to their followers.
• Tip 6: Participate in a Twitter party. If there’s a Twitter meetup in your area, make sure to be there. You’ll find many new followers there.
• Tip 7: Share your Twitter username on your social networks, on the forums and blogs, get listed in Twitter directories.
• Tip 8: Be you and be original. Don’t be afraid to say what you think. A good opinion on something will get retweeted or replied to and will expose your profile. Also, personalize your profile, change colors and background.
• Tip 9: Tweet regularly. That doesn’t mean you have to tweet 24/7, but try to do it every day. If people see your profile was last updated 1 week ago, they will probably not follow you.

How to make your PC secure from all the threats in the online world and improve cyber security? Not sure? Then read on. Here is a list of things you should know to improve your online cyber security:-

Website Structure

Website Structure

Like most things, building a web site will be much easier if you plan ahead. To just start off building and adding without a plan usually means redeveloping your entire site as its outgrows its lack of structure. A little extra work in the beginning will save you a lot of work in the end. Follow this 3-step plan and you'll be off to a great start.
Step 1
Think about all the things you want your site to have and seperate them into specific content related categories. For example, if your site were to have Recipes, Kitchen Hints, Family Photos and Family Personal pages; the Recipes and Kitchen Hints would fall into one category and the Family items would fall into another category. From these categories you'll build a basic structure for your site. Jot down all the categories you plan to have.
Step 2
After jotting down your categories draw a simple diagram of the layout. It will help you organize your site's navigation structure. Using the sample site mentioned above, I've drawn an example site plan:


As you can see in the chart the Index Page has links to the jumpstation level pages, which are the Food Links and Family Links category pages. Think of jumpstations as topical sub-index pages into your specific content areas. The jumpstation level pages are linked back to the Index Page, to each other and downward to the individual content pages relative to that jumpstation. As you add new pages, you only need to add a link to the new page from it's respective jumpstation category. If you add an entirely new content section, you only need to create the jumpstation and tie it to the other jumpstations, keeping the boring work to a minimum.

In addition to the links from a jumpstation to its content pages, you can optionally link between the pages of a particular category, as indicated by the red lines on the bottom of the chart. I wouldn't put a link to every page in a certain category on every page within that category or you're defeating the purpose of the jumpstation. Just have a "next page" link if you do it, and when you add a new page of content you only need to update the last page in the chain with the "next page" link.

An important point to remember is that at the bottom of your navigation structure you DO NOT want only the "next" link in a chain of pages. If someone doesn't want to continue with a particular chain of pages they need an easy way to choose content from another area of your site or they'll go elsewhere. Besides, no one likes to be led around by the nose without other options.

Step 3
To make your site easy to develop and be consistent it helps to make a basic page template before starting. With a template you can just add the content and not have to continually code whole pages.
For this site my template has all the basic html commands a document needs, the basic two-column structure, and the SSI code to insert the top and bottom navigation systems and the right-hand column content that is common to every page. To make a new page I just fill in the stuff in this column and save it with a new name. When I want to change the navigation structure or right-hand column content, I only have to update one file for each to have that change reflected on my whole site.

Add Your Location Automatically to Your Gmail Signature

An exciting new feature has been added to Gmail Labs is “Location in Signature”. Just enable this lab feature and Gmail will automatically append your current location (the city and the country name) to your Gmail signature, like this:
Note that this feature uses public IP address to identify your current location, so it may be inaccurate sometimes or may slightly vary.

Here is the step by step procedure to turn on this feature-

1. Log into your Gmail inbox.

2. Go to Settings -> Labs and scroll down a bit to locate the “Location in Signature” feature.

3. Check the Enable radio button to enable this feature and click on save changes.

4. Now go to Settings -> General and go to the signature settings. Check Append your location

That’s it. Now your signature will always contain your current location. As this feature uses your IP address, guess you must have understood how exactly this feature works. It tracks the location of your IP and appends the same location as your “location signature” and hence, as said earlier, your location may vary slightly.

Mobile phone tracking


Mobile phone tracking tracks the current position of a mobile phone even on the move. To locate the phone, it must emit at least the roaming signal to contact the next nearby antenna tower, but the process does not require an active call. GSM localization is then done by multilateration based on the signal strength to nearby antenna masts
Mobile positioning, i.e. location based service that discloses the actual coordinates of a mobile phone bearer, is a technology used by telecommunication companies to approximate where a mobile phone, and thereby also its user (bearer), temporarily resides. The more properly applied term locating refers to the purpose rather than a positioning process. Such service is offered as an option of the class of location-based services (LBS).
Technology

The technology of locating is based on measuring power levels and antenna patterns and uses the concept that a mobile phone always communicates wirelessly with one of the closest base stations, so if you know which base station the phone communicates with, you know that the phone is close to the respective base station.

Advanced systems determine the sector in which the mobile phone resides and roughly estimate also the distance to the base station. Further approximation can be done by interpolating signals between adjacent antenna towers. Qualified services may achieve a precision of down to 50 meters in urban areas where mobile traffic and density of antenna towers (base stations) is sufficiently high. Rural and desolate areas may see miles between base stations and therefore determine locations less precisely.

GSM localization is the use of multilateration to determine the location of GSM mobile phones, usually with the intent to locate the user .

Localization-Based Systems can be broadly divided into:
Network based
Handset based
Hybrid

Network Based

Network-based techniques utilize the service provider's network infrastructure to identify the location of the handset. The advantage of network-based techniques (from mobile operator's point of view) is that they can be implemented non-intrusively, without affecting the handsets.

The accuracy of network-based techniques varies, with cell identification as the least accurate and triangulation as the most accurate. The accuracy of network-based techniques is closely dependent on the concentration of base station cells, with urban environments achieving the highest possible accuracy.

One of the key challenges of network-based techniques is the requirement to work closely with the service provider, as it entails the installation of hardware and software within the operator's infrastructure. Often, a legislative framework, such as E911, would need to be in place to compel the cooperation of the service provider as well as to safeguard the privacy of the information.

Handset Based

Handset-based technology requires the installation of client software on the handset to determine its location. This technique determines the location of the handset by computing its location by cell identification, signal strengths of the home and neighboring cells or the latitude and longitude, if the handset is equipped with a GPS module. The calculated location is then sent from the handset to a location server.

The key disadvantage of this technique (from mobile operator's point of view) is the necessity of installing software on the handset. It requires the active cooperation of the mobile subscriber as well as software that must be able to handle the different operating systems of the handsets. Typically, smart phones, such as one based on Symbian,Windows Mobile, iPhone / iPhone OS, or Android, would be able to run such software.

One proposed work-around is the installation of embedded hardware or software on the handset by the manufacturers. This avenue has not made significant headway, due to the difficulty of convincing different manufacturers to cooperate on a common mechanism and to address the cost issue. Another difficulty would be to address the issue of foreign handsets that are roaming in the network.

Well, let us find an example to demonstrate the Network based location tracking algorithm: According to global GSM structure and ETSI, the GSM service providers information flows through the control channel and the control channel is free to access. Interestingly, all the present GSM modem/mobiles (Telit, SIMCOM, HTC, Nokia etc.) are coming with some extra feature to monitor the neighbouring cells and its RSSI value. Theoretically you should get 1+6=7 cell information (1 home cell ID, 7 BCCH info+ 7 RSSI). If you know the location of 7 cells, it is possible to get a mobile phone location with very high accuracy (<100 meters).

hybrid

Hybrid positioning systems use a combination of network-based and handset-based technologies for location determination. One example would be Assisted GPS, which uses both GPS and network information to compute the location. Hybrid-based techniques give the best accuracy of the three but inherit the limitations and challenges of network-based and handset-based technologies.

Examples of LBS technologies
Cell Identification - The accuracy of this method can be as good as a few hundred meters in urban areas, but as poor as 35 km[4] in suburban areas and rural zones. The accuracy depends on the known range of the particular network base station serving the handset at the time of positioning.
Enhanced Cell Identification - With this method, one can get a precision similar to Cell Identification, but for rural areas, with circular sectors of 550 meters.
U-TDOA - Uplink-Time difference of arrival - The network determines the time difference and therefore the distance from each base station to the mobile phone.
TOA - Time of arrival - Same as U-TDOA, but this technology uses the absolute time of arrival at a certain base station rather than the difference between two stations.
AOA - Angle of arrival - AOA mechanism locates the mobile phone at the point where the lines along the angles from each base station intersect.
E-OTD - E-OTD is similar to U-TDOA, but the position is estimated by the mobile phone, not by the base station. The precision of this method depends on the number of available LMUs in the networks, varying from 50 to 200 m.
Assisted-GPS - A largely GPS-based technology, which uses an operator-maintained ground station to correct for GPS errors caused by the atmosphere/topography. Assisted-GPS positioning technology typically falls back to cell-based positioning methods when indoors or in an urban canyon environment.
Hybrid - As mentioned above, hybrid positioning systems use different methods depending on which signals are locally available.
